Finding the right balance between economic and combat upgrades in the early waves is the core strategic decision the game presents, and the right answer changes depending on how quickly the enemy composition escalates on a given run.

Random Power-Ups

The question mark at the top of the screen fills its blue bar over time and delivers a random power-up when it completes. Poison, a bomb-carrying soldier, or a full health regeneration for all your units are among the possibilities, and none of them are predictable or controllable. The health regeneration is the most valuable option when it arrives during a sustained assault that has worn your defenders down, while the bomb soldier creates a single dramatic moment of area damage. The randomness means you cannot plan around these power-ups but you can react to them effectively when they arrive.
