Jade and sapphire are the premium resources reserved for hero upgrades, and heroes including princes, paladins, and enchantresses can shift the outcome of a battle significantly when properly upgraded and placed. Loot chests unlock alongside campaign progress and contain gold, gems, and the rare upgrade materials that would otherwise take many victories to accumulate through silver alone.

Online PvP

PvP puts your formation against another player’s, which introduces the human element that campaign AI cannot replicate. Human opponents adapt, use non-standard formations, and exploit weaknesses that predictable AI does not. The global leaderboard gives competitive players a long-term ranking goal beyond individual match results, and the ranking system means you are consistently matched against players at a similar skill level rather than being thrown against veterans from the first session.
