You start with almost nothing: an empty space, a register, and a computer in the corner. From there, everything you build is yours to figure out. Use the computer to order shelves, fridges, and freezers, then head outside to collect the delivery boxes and bring them in. Stock the right products in the right places — dry goods on shelves, cold items in the fridge, frozen food in the freezer, fresh produce in the grocery section. Get the layout wrong and your customers will have a terrible time navigating the store. Get it right and you’ve got the foundation of something great.

Pricing is where the strategy kicks in. Every product has a market price, and you can set your own. Charge too little and you’re leaving money on the table. Charge too much and customers will walk out before reaching the register. Finding that sweet spot between profit and satisfaction is one of the most satisfying parts of the game.

Then the doors open, and things get hectic. Customers flood in with shopping carts, and you’re behind the register scanning items as fast as you can. Some want to pay by card — punch in the correct total on the POS terminal. Others pay cash — make the right change or it comes out of your earnings. Speed matters, but accuracy matters more.

As the store grows, you can hire cashiers and cleaners to help keep up with demand. You can even expand the floor space for more shelves and more customers. It’s a proper little business building loop wrapped inside a surprisingly fun cashier game.
