About the Game
An alien has landed on your planet with colonization plans, and you have a growing arsenal of weapons and absolutely no intention of letting that happen. Kick the Alien is a clicker game in the same family as Kick the Zombie and Kick the Pirate, trading the cemetery and the high seas for an intergalactic battle arena where every click earns coins, every coin funds a better weapon, and every level brings a tougher alien that requires the upgrades you have been building toward.
Hitting and Earning
Each click depletes the alien’s health bar at the bottom of the screen while simultaneously adding coins to your total. Depleting the bar completely clears the level, earns a coin bonus, and advances you to the next stage where the alien arrives with more health and a higher tolerance for the punishment you have been dealing. The coin flow from consecutive hits adds up quickly enough that the first weapon upgrade is accessible relatively early, and the jump in effectiveness between the starting tool and the first proper sci-fi weapon is significant enough to make the upgrade feel worthwhile immediately.
Weapons and Upgrades
Weapon icons at the top of the screen let you switch between whatever you have unlocked, and the shop opens up options ranging from ray guns and hammers to more elaborate sci-fi implements that the game describes as other sci-fi madness, which is accurate. Each weapon has a price that requires saving up rather than spending immediately on the cheapest available option, and the stronger weapons make the later levels with their tougher aliens more manageable than trying to grind through them with early gear.
Backgrounds and Visual Settings
Coins can also go toward new battle arena backgrounds, including a planet-side bedroom, a lava moon, and a neon-blue alien city. None of them change the gameplay but they change the visual context enough to keep longer sessions from feeling identical. Impact effects can be toggled off from the top right corner of the screen for a less intense visual experience, and sound can be muted from the same location. Both toggles are independent, so you can keep the sound while reducing the visual effects or vice versa depending on your preference.
Controls: Left click to hit the alien with your equipped weapon.
