About the Game
You start with nothing. No tools, no shelter, no food, just an open jungle world and whatever you can find in it. Survival Craft is a sandbox survival game that puts the entire burden of staying alive on your ability to gather, craft, and build before the environment gets the better of you. It is the kind of game where the first ten minutes feel overwhelming and the next hour feels like you are actually figuring something out.
Getting Your First Tools
The axe is the first thing you need and the key to getting everything else. To craft it you need wood and a rock, both of which are lying around the starting area if you take a moment to explore before committing to anything. Open the crafting section from the icon in the lower left corner of the screen, navigate to the tools category, and you will see exactly what each item requires before you make it. Once you have the axe, trees become a proper wood source and small cliffs give you rocks when you strike them. From there the resource loop opens up considerably.
Beyond wood and rocks, you want to be collecting grass, blackberries, and corn as you explore. These feed into crafting recipes and into keeping your character alive, because hunger and rest are actual mechanics here. The bars in the top right of the screen track your character’s condition, and the health bar in particular cannot reach zero. Eating regularly and finding somewhere to sleep are not optional side activities, they are survival requirements.
Building a Shelter
A shelter is your first major construction goal and it changes the game significantly once you have one. The basic foundation requires five wood decks, and you will need rope crafted from grass to bind the parts together. From that starting point you can expand into proper walls, a roof, and eventually more advanced structures like a furnace for cooking food and a workshop station for crafting better equipment. The progression from a basic hut to a functional home with cooking and crafting facilities is one of the more satisfying arcs the game offers, and each new addition to your shelter makes the next survival challenge easier to handle.
Fishing and Food
The lake is a food source worth investing in once you have the basics covered. You cannot fish without a rod, so it is a mid-game option rather than an early survival strategy, but once you have one it gives you a reliable food supply that foraging alone cannot always provide consistently. Combined with farming crops like corn and gathering blackberries, a well-established character can keep their hunger bar stable without constant scrambling.
