About the Game

A little square that loves to dance, a relentless stream of triangles and obstacles coming from the right, and a single input that determines everything: the jump. Geometry Rash is a one-button rhythm platformer inspired by Geometry Dash where the music and the obstacle placement are aligned, and players who attune to the beat find sequences easier to anticipate than those relying purely on visual reaction. The square runs forward automatically from the moment you hit play, and your only job is deciding when to leave the ground.

The Jump Timing Window

With only one input available, the entire skill of the game lives in one decision made repeatedly at increasing speeds. Jumping too early sends the square into a spike that was not yet clearable. Waiting too long means the obstacle has already made contact before the jump begins. The window between those two failure states narrows as the speed increases, and the game speeds up consistently as you progress further into a run. Adjusting to each new speed rather than assuming the timing that worked a moment ago still applies is the mental adaptation the game is constantly demanding.

Rhythm and Sound

Playing with the sound on is genuinely functional rather than just atmospheric. The obstacle placement correlates with the musical beats, and building a feel for the rhythm alongside the visual track gives you advance information about when the next obstacle arrives rather than reacting to it at the last moment. Players who play muted tend to rely entirely on visual processing, which works but adds a layer of difficulty that the audio removes when you let it guide the timing. The combination of watching the right side of the screen for upcoming obstacles and listening for the beat is the most complete approach.

Skins and Stars

Stars collected during runs fund the twenty skin unlocks available for the square, each costing fifty stars. The unlocks are randomized surprises rather than a visible catalog, and the game teases the possibility of a Spiderman square among the options. Collecting stars while also navigating obstacles requires attention to the track beyond just the immediate jump decision, and the skin progression gives each run a secondary purpose that extends the game’s appeal well past the initial challenge of simply surviving longer than the previous attempt.

Controls: Spacebar, W, Up Arrow, or left mouse click to jump.
