About the Game
The city has fallen, the streets are full of the undead, and your monster truck has spikes on the front and just enough horsepower to get through what is left of civilization. Apocalypse Truck is a side-scrolling 2D driving game where running over zombies is both the obstacle management strategy and a coin-earning mechanic, mid-air flips bonus your coin count, and surviving thirty-plus levels requires managing your truck’s health bar while keeping enough momentum to clear the terrain between you and each finish line.
Driving and Zombie Handling
Zombies on the road are an opportunity as much as an obstacle. Running them over earns coins and clears the path simultaneously, which makes pushing through a cluster at speed more rewarding than trying to avoid them. The spike-equipped truck is built for exactly this interaction, and maintaining enough velocity through groups of undead rather than slowing to navigate around them is both more effective and more entertaining. The post-apocalyptic terrain between zombie encounters includes wrecked cars that function as ramps, and hitting them at speed produces the airtime needed for the flip bonus mechanic.
Flips and Coins
Each completed front or back flip during a jump earns three bonus coins on top of whatever is collected from the road and zombie encounters. Wrecked cars and natural terrain ramps provide the launch points, and the approach speed determines how much airtime you have to complete the rotation before landing. A flip that does not complete before the truck hits the ground does not earn the bonus, so carrying enough speed into each ramp to allow full rotation is the difference between a scoring jump and a wasted opportunity. Coins from all sources fund the garage where five trucks are available, each with different durability and performance characteristics.
Staying Upright
The truck health bar drains steadily when the vehicle is flipped and sitting upside down, which makes recovery speed after a bad landing a genuine survival skill rather than a cosmetic concern. Pressing the Up Arrow while inverted launches the truck and creates the airtime needed to rotate back onto the wheels, and acting on that immediately rather than waiting costs less health than sitting idle. On rougher terrain sections where flipping is more likely, the balance controls during flight, holding the left or right arrow to rotate the truck mid-air before landing, are what keep the health bar from becoming a problem.
Controls: Arrow keys or WASD to drive and balance, Up Arrow or W to jump. Mouse for menus. Touch buttons on mobile.
