Coins from road pickups and successful flips fund the five truck unlocks in the garage. Bigger trucks have a competitive advantage over smaller ones, so working toward the better vehicles rather than staying on the starter truck through all thirty levels is the approach that makes the later races less of a grind. The tracks get progressively harder and having a truck that matches the difficulty is worth the coin investment.
